Over the weekend, I was taking a cab from Tova's apartment, and we came to a street that was blocked off and guarded by soldiers who stopped us and searched the car. I had already been through this blockade several times in the past week. When we were allowed to pass, the cab driver asked me if I knew who lived on this street. I wasn't feeling very talkative, so I just looked out the window and said, "Olmert." The driver swung his head around at me in surprise. "Wow!" he exclaimed. "You know everything about Israel!"
If only.
